Department: University Libraries, Appalachian State University, Boone, NC USA
Contact Information: greenam7@appstate.edu
You are invited to participate in a study that aims to shed light on Western North Carolina (WNC) community groups and their needs in the areas of digitization, copyright, 3D scanning, metadata, digital asset management, and other related areas.
If you agree to be part of the study, you will be asked to participate in this online Qualtrics survey consisting of 9 questions, including a question that asks you to identify your professional affiliation (e.g., arts and crafts, agriculture, finance, retail, etc.). The survey should take approximately 5-7 minutes to complete and will ask about your and/or your organization’s/employer’s needs and interests in receiving free assistance with and professional development in the aforementioned areas. Finally, the survey will ask you to provide more information about your reasons for being interested in these areas and how this assistance may benefit you or your organization/employer. Participating in this study is completely voluntary.
Even if you decide to participate now, you may change your mind and stop at any time. You may choose not to answer any survey question for any reason. There is no penalty or loss of benefits for not participating or discontinuing participation. No personally identifiable information will be asked in the survey, and Qualtrics will remove participants’ IP addresses and location data from the results. The data collected will remain anonymous and will be protected through password-protected computers. All data will be reported in aggregate forms in any presentations or publications that result from this study. There is no formal compensation for participation, and the study has been determined to involve no more than minimal risks.
If you have questions about this study, you may contact Ashlea Green at greenam7@appstate.edu, Pam Mitchem at pricemtchemp@appstate.edu, or Dea Rice at ricedm@appstate.edu. The Office of Research Protections at Appalachian State University has determined that this research is exempt from IRB oversight.
